Frequently Asked Questions

Should I just try to pressure wash myself?

Maybe to some extent, but you can easily cause damage to your home and yourself if you're not careful. I don't recommend nonprofessionals pressure washing from a ladder as this is very dangerous. Washing vinyl siding from the ground at an upward angle will force water behind the siding causing water damage. Getting up in the air and away from the house will allow you to rinse the siding at a better angle. This is done with the proper equipment. Also small consumer grade pressure washers put out too much pressure to wash vinyl and pressure treated wood. Professional equipment allows reduction of pressure to not cause damage.

Will the cleaners being used damage my plants or harm my pets?

We only use envionmentally safe products that will not harm your pets, however, plants are more sensitive and need to be protected. If a cleaner drys on the leaves of a plan it can leave burn spots. It's best to wet the plants down with water before, during, and after the cleaning process. There should be no damage as long as cleaners are not allowed to dry on the plants.

Is high pressure the only way to get it clean?

No. Only inferior cleaners have to depend on high pressure to do the job. High pressure can cause a lot of damage to your home. Too much pressure will force water behind the siding of your home and cause mold and mildew problems. Wood is softer than you might think, and using too much pressure to wash a deck can cut wood leaving marks and scars that show through the sealer. We use professional grade cleaners and the right amount of pressure.

Should I hire the company that offers the lowest price?

Keep in mind the price you see advertised may not be the price you pay. Many homeowners get pressured into paying more for various extras. Other contractors' strategy is to get the job by being the lowest bidder, and then cut corners to profit. Finally many companies come and go because they think pressure washing is easy and profitable, but they lack the equipment, cleaners, knowledge, and normally will charge an extremely low price. Lakeside Power Wash has been in Lake Norman for over 12 years.

Can an honest pressure washing company give an estimate over the phone?

It would be nice if the answer were yes, but unfortunately it isn't. There are too many variables that can change the price from one house to another. Different types of terrain or landscaping can affect the price. What type of wood is your deck? Has it been sealed? Etc. Fortunately once we give an estimate you know that's the price you will pay without last minute surprises.
